Agate-a-Ga-Ga

With the extreme heat of Houston summers, everything here is turning brown. I'm dying for a bit of color. That's why I'm so drawn to agate accessories. Aren't they gorgeous?

BFF's 4-eva!

Pick Up Sticks Necklace by The Docent, $105

Quick! What does this necklace remind you of? If you said "Those friendship bracelets I used to make in elementary school!!!"... Bingo! Is this cool again? Are we doing this? Because I will bust out my collection of embroidery floss and get to twisting!
Yesterday, I found these on Apartment 34:
by For You, For Me via Etsy
Oh, it is on (like Donkey Kong).

P.S. After I found those two necklaces, I wanted to see if I still had to bracelet making skills...
Now I know. That skill is permenantly implanted in my brain. Awesome.

So Charming

Pile it on! Get your hands on them at Generate Design

It's about time! I can't think of a more perfect designer to create dainty 18 karat gold charms than the legendary Tord Boontje! Here's the cool part- the charms are packaged in three's. Once they're in your greedy little hands, you can do anything you desire with them. Turn them into earrings, get all four sets and make a killer necklace, or just wear one at a time. And, at only $39 per set, they make a great gift for that design junkie friend of yours (i.e. me).

From left: Package One, Three, Four, and Two and a stylish serving suggestion.

This is more my style. Package Two is my favorite. The deer reminds me of the ones I see on morning runs when the weather is cooler.

Head Games

Why is it that we so often neglect our noggins? Not necessarily what we put in them, but what we put on them. Fancy up your head a bit next time you go out. Your hair will appreciate it.

I Love the 80's: Neon

To kick off my homage to the resurgence of all things 80's (gasp!), I've collected a few neon treasures that I'd love to sport. I'm not going full on bright with an outfit of neon Units (oh, yeah! Remember those?!), but I could rock a neon necklace with a black dress. The 80's is back... take it in small doses.

Clockwise from top left: Tom Binns "Dumont Noir Fluorescent Earrings", $220; J. Crew "Neon Patent Capri Sandals" in Neon Orange, $39.50; Givenchy Necklace (coming to Macy's); Dannijo "Collage Ring" in Electric Pink, $190.

Key To My <3

I love the new Tiffany & Co. keys collection. They're exquisite for sure. But the smallest one is 250 bucks, and that's a little beyond my budget right now. I might not be able to afford diamonds, but I can afford Etsy. Going with the skeleton key theme, I found several cute necklaces with vintage style that will satisfy my need for keys...

Gold Key Necklace from Cherry Street Jewelry, $26.

This one's my favorite! Skeleton Key & Aventurine Necklace from Jeweled Ambrosia, $26.

Key To My Heart Necklace from Rock Paper Silver, $24.

Summer Romance Vintage Key Necklace from SSSJ, $22.

Hand-Crafted Cool

I'm in love...

With the arrival of Spring, we see the departure of the crisp, tailored looks of winter, and usher in a flowy, casual aesthetic. I'm loving the bohemian chic necklaces that embody that fancy-free look. They're all just a bit imperfect. They're easy to wear with boyfriend jeans and a white tee. They're so Marni Spring 2005. They're lovely.
"Electric Kool-aid Necklace" by Lizzie Fortunato Jewels, $422 via Charm & Chain.
"Handmade Felt Ball Necklace" by modernfiberlab, $58 via Etsy.
"Concertina Ribbon Necklace" in Teal by Flos ad Florem, about $490 via Kabiri

"Ruffian Bib" by Candace Ang, $178

My Grown-Up Easter Basket

My, my, my... Is it already Easter time? Where is this year going? Before you know it, I'll be writing about everything summer!
Easter is one of my favorite times of year. It always seems like an appropriate time for new beginnings. Everything is bright and new. I have an excuse to buy a pretty new dress. Not to mention Easter baskets- always a good thing to wake up to as a kid. Alas, I'm too old for Easter baskets these days (I doubt my mom will get up early to leave one on the doorstep of my apartment), but that doesn't mean I can't dream. If I were going to stock my very own Easter basket these days, here's what I would fill it with...

Row One: J. Crew Fringed Linen Scarf in natural (the perfect summer scarf!), $49.50; UK Flag Notecards from MadeByGirl (because I love sending little notes from time to time), $11 for four; Tree of Life Necklace from Anthropologie (I fell in LOVE with this!), $58.

Row Two: Tarte Natural Beauty Cheek Stain at Sephora (because I prefer to fake my sun exposure), $28; Lady Gaga: The Fame at Borders (her songs always get me pumped to start the day), about $13; Kate Spade Jane Street Debra Organizer in Chocolate/Pink (because life is so much better when it's organized!), $165.

Row Three: Godiva Cherry Cordials (I had to have something sweet! It's an Easter Basket!), $10 for nine; Victorian Antique Gold Rose Filigree Ring from edmdesigns on Etsy (AMAZING and made from vintage watch parts), $65; Nine West Snooks Heels in Ivory Natural Leather (A little bit bondage with a little bit sweet), $89.

Row Four: Coach S Charm (so everybody knows who's keys those are), $30; Eveline Tarunadjaja Wallet from Poketo (we just got these in the store and I want one!), $20; Tory Burch Straw Saddle Jane Tote in Natural/Hibiscus Pink (because I need something to use as a basket), $365.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I would not recommend wearing your heart on your sleeve. That has a habit of getting one into trouble. However, wearing your heart around your neck could be a stylish proposition. Observe...
Terrible picture, yes, but too adorable to pass up. Necklaces by Aurelie Bidermann as features in Harper's Bazaar.

I'll take one in each color, please. Thank you. Resin heart pendants by Cara Croninger.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
