Tug of War: Which Sectional Would You Choose?

posted by InteriorMOTIVE at 3 Comments
We have got a new tug of war this week between two great new sectionals. The all-modern and divine Stefano or the radiant and oh-so-beautiful Gramercy. Both of these sofa's are phenomenal and you can't go wrong with either of them. They are bench-made in the US of A, they are made of hardwood frames that will last you till the year 3011, and they make you want to grab your snuggie and settle in for a movie night. Although they are both amazing, they do have their differences. The Stefano can be described as contemporary with it's clean lines and metal legs. The Gramercy is more transitional which is still modern, but it gives you some of those traditional elements as in the nail head trim and the multicolored pillows. Don't be shy, hurry up and let us know which sectional suits your ravishing style so that you will be entered for the chance to win a gift card for your next purchase at High Fashion Home. The Stefano

The Stefano is no foreign friend to contemporary luxury. It is upholstered with a beautiful fabric that will glow in any space. Not only is it delightful to look at, it is also cozy for any gathering you plan to have.

The Gramercy
Never Boring, the Gramercy sectional's high sheltered arms and abundance of pillows presents a new approach to sectionals. It has spacious seating for intimate gatherings and enough comfort for the company you welcome. A nice nail head trim brings in some traditional aspects, but it still has a modern touch.

Earth Day 2011: A Wonderland of Trees!

(photo courtesy of Earth Day Network)

Thanks to all our customers for joining High Fashion Home and the Arbor Day Foundation to help save our planet.  For every piece of furniture sold at High Fashion Home, one tree will be planted through the Arbor Day foundation.  As of December 31, 2010, we have helped plant 15,740 trees.

Here are some of the benefits one tree can make for years to come:
  • One tree can absorb more than a ton of carbon dioxide
  • Over the course of 50 years, a single tree can control $31,500 of soil erosion.
  • Trees help maintain clean water supplies.
  • One tree produces nearly 260 pounds of oxygen a year.
My math says our trees will help produce 4,092,400 pounds of oxygen in the next year.  Thanks to all of our great customers for helping the world breath a little bit easier.

A New, Old House

I hadn't visited Elle Decor in awhile so I decided to pop over to their website and see what wonderfulness they had to offer; I was not disappointed. I came upon an article about Interior Designer, Patrick Printy's home. It's a brand new home that he and his partner, Dan Holland, designed and had built but they wanted it to look like it had "been around forever." The home is beautiful. It has so much natural light streaming in and they filled it with amazing furniture and lots of reclaimed wood (which looks fantastic). I hope this house gives you some inspiration and ideas! Enjoy. : )

This is the picture that sparked my curiosity. I love the look of the house from the back. Printy was inspired by Cape Dutch farmhouses in South Africa. Beautiful.

The living room is lovely. I am loving the exposed beams (reclaimed wood) and wide plank floors.

The dining area is very simple but appealing to the eye. The chandelier is a Printy design.

Love the simple kitchen with lots of drawer space! Bar stools are from Design Within Reach.

I am so in love with this wall full of framed art! It just looks amazing. I like that there is plenty of furniture present but it doesn't overwhelm the room. Sofa is by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams and the tray table is by Roost. High Fashion Home carries the side chairs; the Exposition Leather Chair.

The master bedroom. Still loving the exposed beams and I like the neutral color scheme. Bed is a Printy design.

This bathroom is so beautiful. So much natural light coming in, a gorgeous cast-iron bathtub and I adore the giant 18th-century wardrobe!

A guest bedroom. Headboard is from Williams-Sonoma Home, duvet is from Serena & Lily, and the tulip shaped chair is from Pierre Paulin. That bed looks so comfy!

Another guest room. I love the stacked books under the edge of the bed. The bed is from Room & Board.

A Beautiful San Francisco Home

posted by InteriorMOTIVE at 2 Comments
This beautiful home located in San Fran's Russian Hill neighborhood is hard to miss. Glowing radiantly up-hill, it displays itself as an exquisitely designed home by John Maniscalco Architecture. This $7 million dollar residence has 3 bedroom and 5 full bathrooms which is unusual, but they have an extra bath on the roof deck where a home office is located. If I could inherited this home, my life would be complete. One can only dream...

What an eye catching design.

Nice open doors to the outdoors.

Beautiful living area and kitchen space encompassing views of the wonderful San Francisco.

This formal living space is radiant with neutral colors and modern touches.

Love the floors!

Stunning master bedroom with an amazing view.

Cute guest room, love the concept.

Gorgeous master bath! It embodies relaxation and comfort.

An office with an outdoor deck, could it get any better.

JENZET, The Little Illustrator (Local Artist)

Today, while on Etsy, I came across the cutest shop!! It's called Jenzet (aka The Little Illustrator) and in that shop you will find some of the most original and adorable prints! The original pictures were done on a real sheet of paper with a real pen (by Jen of Jenzet) and then digitally colored. The prints available through this shop look great and have such sweet images and messages; I just love them. Also, Jen can do custom prints for you, you need only talk to her about it. AND, did I mention that she is right here in H-Town?? Enjoy! : )

"Cooler Thank You Think" could also be called, Don't Judge A Book By It's Cover. A good message. She also does this print on a t-shirt.

 "I Love Vinyl" who doesn't?

"Make The Best Of Today".... a good reminder

"Mon Amour" I love this one! So precious.

"Their Chemistry" is clever and completely adorable!

  "Feeling Bubbly" I love this.

70's Style Home in Palm Springs

This house wonderful! I love the openness of it. I found it today while checking out Elle Decor. The home belongs to graphic designer, Jeffery Kerns. Mr. Kerns did the decorating himself and states in the Elle Decor interview that he designs his rooms around the artwork on the walls. I think this is a different approach than what most people do but his rooms look great so maybe he's on to something. Enjoy! : )

 A view of the 70's ranch-style home.

I love how colorful and fun the living room is! Artwork is by Richard Serra and Sean Duffy. The Great Dane is a nice touch too. : )

The kitchen is incredible! It's so open and clean. I LOVE the cooktop island.

Again, very open and all the glass lets in so much light.

Love the huge Lolita print. Don't be afraid of big artwork.

I adore this boat tub by Wieki Somers! It's so different and fun.

A great outdoor space is so important to me so naturally I love this one.
